 megan  Megan Hake - Nurse
Originally from New Orleans, Megan moved to the Midwest to attend Marquette University before earning her master’s in nursing at DePaul University and her Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner degree from Vanderbilt University. She has spent the past 10 years caring for children as a pediatric nurse practitioner in both primary care and, most recently, the Epilepsy Center at Lurie Children’s Hospital.


In her free time, you can usually find Megan at the local library, park, or children’s museum with her three young children, Colette, William, and Genevieve.

Katie Ericson - 2nd Grade


This will be Mrs. Ericson’s 13th year teaching and first year teaching at Harper! She earned her Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Master’s degree in reading from National Louis University. She is also a National Board Certified teacher. Mrs. Ericson taught at a Chicago Public School in Rogers Park for 12 years. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband and 3 children, going to the beach, and playing mahjong with friends.
 pic Lynn Nelson - Spanish (Maternity Leave)

Lynn Nelson holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an M.S. in Instructional Technology from Northern Illinois University, and an ESL certification from National Louis University. With over 25 years of teaching experience, she has initiated and implemented FLES/FLEX Spanish language programs across several Chicago suburban districts, including Kenilworth District 38 and Glencoe District 35. Additionally, Lynn taught 6th and 7th grade Spanish in Arlington Heights School District 25 for 3 years before serving the last 8 years as the 1st–4th grade Spanish teacher in Sunset Ridge School District 29. Outside the classroom, Lynn resides in Arlington Heights with her husband, Tim, their sons, Evan (22) and Aiden (18), and a black Labrador, Cosmo (5). Lynn is delighted to work in a district and community that prioritizes second language acquisition.
 pic Liz Foley  - Special Education Coordinator

Liz is excited to begin her first year as the Student Services Coordinator for Harper and Central Schools. During her 14 years in District 39, she has served as a Learning Behavior Specialist classroom teacher and an Inclusion Specialist in the Lechner Early Education Program. Liz earned a Bachelor of Science in Education with a Special Education emphasis from Central Michigan University and a Master of Arts in School Leadership from Concordia University Chicago.

Liz is originally from Michigan, but has called Chicago home for the past 20 years. She lives in Roscoe Village with her husband, John, their six-year-old son, Johnny, and their sassy Bernedoodle, Frankie Doodle. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, practicing yoga, and trying new recipes. This October, she will run the Chicago Marathon while raising funds to support Lurie Children's Hospital.

This is Lisa’s first year at Harper and her second year in this role. Prior to becoming a Behavior Specialist, she spent ten years as a special education teacher, including seven years as an LBS at Wilmette Junior High. She earned her bachelor's degree in Special Education from Illinois State University and her master's degree in Special Education from Northern Illinois University. She also holds her Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification and enjoys working with students and staff to create supportive, positive learning environments.
