After an extensive and thorough selection process, Wilmette Public Schools District 39 is pleased to announce Jackie Brennan as the next Principal of Harper Elementary School. Brennan, who currently serves as Harper’s Assistant Principal, was approved at last night’s Regular Meeting of the Board of Education and will begin work in her new role as principal on July 1.

“I am truly honored to be the next Principal of Harper Elementary School!” Brennan said. “Harper welcomed me with open arms two years ago and I knew immediately that I found a community that I wanted to grow with. I look forward to continuing to partner with Harper’s teachers, staff and families to support our students in their continued academic and social-emotional growth for a long time to come.”

Brennan returned to District 39 in 2021 after a four-year stint as Assistant Principal at Scammon Elementary School in Chicago and has been a valued member of both the Harper and District 39 communities upon her return. In addition to nurturing positive and supportive relationships with teachers, staff, students, and families at Harper, she has also had a leading role in building the school-wide Foundations, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and Instructional Leadership Teams at Harper. Through this work, she collaborated with teachers and staff to analyze student performance data and develop targeted intervention and enrichment strategies to support advancements in student learning. Brennan has also been integral in implementing Harper’s comprehensive safety plan, which includes emergency drills and procedures, to ensure the safety of students and staff and has served as an administrative representative on D39’s District Strategic Advisory Team.

“We are very excited to announce Jackie Brennan as the next Principal at Harper Elementary,” commented Dr. Kari Cremascoli, District 39 Superintendent. “Jackie’s experience, leadership skills, and commitment to both student growth and the mission of District 39 are exemplary and she is well prepared to lead the Harper community.”
